What is Ready to Burn?

Ready to burn is a certification from Woodsure that ensures all firewood sold is under a moisture content of 20% or less. This certification was created to prevent harmful pollution from domestic solid fuels such as firewood. 

How do you season your firewood?

Seasoning our firewood involves drying it out to reduce its moisture content, making it more efficient for burning. We start by cutting and splitting the wood to expose more surface area, allowing for a quicker drying process. From there, we stack the wood in a well-ventilated area and partially cover it, keeping the logs dry from rain but allowing them to thoroughly air dry.

We then wait up to 12 months for our specially selected hardwoods to become thoroughly dry before exposing them to kilns for up to 10 hours, ensuring they are under 15% moisture content.

Why choose kiln-dried logs?

Kiln-dried logs are guaranteed to have a much lower moisture content than other firewood. This allows the logs to burn without creating large amounts of smoke in your home. These logs also tend to burn hotter and last longer than regular firewood, providing you with much better value for money.
